Skilled and Experienced Representation by Former Marine
From my office, Charles R. Allen, Jr., Attorney at Law, I have been advocating for clients in the Roanoke area since 1974. I understand the impact that an unresolved legal matter can have on you and your family, and I provide compassionate counsel in a family-friendly environment. I take time to listen carefully to your concerns so that I can help find solutions that meet your objectives. I try to maintain the respect of my clients, peers and members of the judiciary through my hard work and professionalism.
I served in the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty (1967-1970) and in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve until retirement in 1994 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Semper fidelis is the Marine Corps motto which in Latin means “always faithful.” A Marine always is guided by the ethics and values of the Corps.
I bring those ethics and values to my legal practice, and I am always faithful to the goals and objectives of my clients, and to providing the service and skilled representation my clients deserve.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Charles R. Allen, a Roanoke lawyer, has been named the 2009 Small Business Veteran of the Year by the Roanoke Regional Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Allen was presented the award on October 1, 2009, at the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Awards. "Charles Allen is an individual who has made a significant difference in the lives of veterans and has contributed to the Virginia economy by operating a successful law practice in Roanoke for 30 years." — Tom Tanner, business counselor with the Roanoke Regional SBDC.
Attorney at Law for Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Bankruptcy and Military Personnel
I am a general practice attorney who has focused my legal practice on a few areas of law. My main focus includes:
- Criminal defense — I don’t delegate your defense to anyone. At my law firm, I handle all criminal defense cases personally and will make jail visits when necessary.
- Personal injury — I believe I am a good listener. Listening to your story and the events of your accident and injury will help me to develop a winning strategy on your behalf. I will make home or hospital visits when necessary.
- Bankruptcy — I have been a bankruptcy trustee since 1984, and I am thoroughly up to date on all of the newest changes in the bankruptcy laws.
-
Representation of military personnel — There are some important differences in how someone in the military is treated in our judicial system. I am well aware of these differences and represent servicemen and service women in all the branches of the military. I also represent retired or former members of the military and understand the issues that former military personnel may have.
